Product Overview

The Sunpok 20kWh sodium-ion energy storage battery is a purpose-built residential energy storage system designed around the core principle of safety-first. Unlike traditional lithium-based batteries, it uses sodium-ion cell chemistry with inherently higher thermal and chemical stability, greatly reducing the risk of thermal runaway, fire or explosion even under extreme conditions such as short circuit, puncture or high temperature.

At the system level, each battery is equipped with an independent and high-efficiency Battery Management System (BMS) that provides all-round protection including over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, over-temperature, short-circuit and cell balancing. The built-in LCD display shows real-time voltage, current, state of charge (SOC) and fault warnings, allowing users to monitor battery status at a glance. The 48V low-voltage design falls within the human safety voltage range, further reducing safety hazards during installation, maintenance and daily operation.

In terms of performance, the battery delivers a rated capacity of 400Ah at 48V, totaling 20kWh of usable energy, which can cover the basic electricity demand of an average household for 2-3 days during power outages. It supports more than 10,000 charge-discharge cycles under 80% depth of discharge, translating to over 15 years of service life with typical daily use, and brings significantly lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

For scalability, the modular parallel architecture allows up to 15 units to be connected in parallel, expanding the total capacity from 20kWh up to 300kWh to match different household power consumption levels. The system supports automatic parallel identification without complex debugging, making capacity upgrade simple and fast.

For user convenience, the battery is fitted with heavy-duty universal wheels with brakes, enabling easy movement and flexible placement in garages, utility rooms, balconies or any indoor space. The plug-and-play electrical interface greatly shortens installation time and reduces labor cost. With support for RS485, CANBUS and RS232 communication protocols, it is perfectly compatible with all major brands of off-grid and hybrid solar inverters, and can be seamlessly integrated into existing home solar systems.
